Dice rolling

It's been a while since I reported on my D&D adventures! Some things that happened since then:
- The party was hired to "deal with" goblin pirates, but my character thought that piracy doesn't deserve a death sentence and looked for a different way to stop them, so she dueled and killed the goblin chief, and it turned out that made her the new chief. Oops. Fortunately she managed to make contact with the more modern goblins living in the city nearby and together they found a replacement chief that would also discourage piracy, and not aim to set a giant sea monster on the nearby town to destroy it as a sacrifice to an evil sea goddess.
- While MC was with the goblins (i.e. I was on vacation), the rest of the party went on quests. The first one resulted in a massive nest of giant wasps and their spellcaster queen attacking the town (a few dozen dead, and only not more because there was a festival in town that attracted adventurers and so two dragons were there to help defend it.) The second one saw them blowing up large parts of the town's sewer system. As a result our party got an official black mark and assigned a punishment quest. The entire party, even though MC wasn't even involved, hmpf. But since MC has been back with the party there hasn't been collateral damage like that – clearly I play an important role!
- We had to make a very difficult decision during a quest in some catacombs when a poisoner offered us help to defeat the monsters if we committed academic sabotage against the anthropologist wizard he was competing for a grant against. Ultimately, after we'd already broken into the guy's lab, we declined (MC was the most hesitant, simply because she was the most wary of the poisoner's abilities and afraid of insulting him.) Not long afterwards we were almost all killed by the monsters (one of them swallowed our sorceress), but fortunately we had an emergency beacon from the Adventurers' Guild, and of course it was the poisoner who showed up to save us. He was very smug.
- Our runecaster's backstory involves her boyfriend being killed by an elf noble. Last session MC found out the noble had instead convinced the boyfriend to fake his death and ghost the runecaster because she was doing business with shady people (the elf noble has an obsession with hunting drow, and she's using some drow weapons.) Now MC just has to explain that to the runecaster… who's already feeling down, because:
- Our warlock/cleric player decided to retroactively change his patron/deity to Vhaeraun, the evil drow god of surface terrorism. Our DM was delighted and promptly had his patron approach him with a task. The warlock went completely overboard and instead of just stealing some items ripped their previous owner apart – in a city of mages, so he was caught by the guard two hours later, imprisoned, and sentenced to level drain and labor camp. Exit warlock/cleric.
That was actually quite frustrating for a while because the player just kept making decisions that the rest of us knew would make it next to impossible for our characters to keep accepting the warlock as a party member. And then he said that it's fine, he already has a back-up character in mind - couldn't you have said that before?? I'm still a bit unhappy about that, and wary about his new (druid) character. D. is my least favorite player of our group because of stuff like this, and he really likes playing chaotic characters of the "rush in and hit things without thinking" variety which really doesn't fit with my play style and can be so annoying. At least the DM doesn't let him get away with it too much.
- MC is a level 12 warblade now! More cool maneuvers and tricks. My favorite attacks are charge + power attack, even without maneuvers I deal 4d6+62 damage with that (thanks to my enchanted greatsword.) Sometimes it's a little frustrating that MC can only do one thing in combat and that's hit opponents in melee and deal weapon damage, but that one thing she can do very well.
