I want to mention that I did write an exam today, studied for the exam tomorrow, had great food and cookies, and went for a run. That said! Brief thoughts on TMA, episodes 81 – 101.

Georgie! Georgie is the best. I love how sensible she is. Fearless (which… is weird, for a fear entity to take away fear? I have Thoughts on the End) and very hard to shake but not stupid either. The opposite, really, she sees clearly, like how weird it is that Jon was chosen as Head Archivist when he has no education or even experience in that field but it makes sense if it is about knowledge-seeking because he always did that a lot, and that the more Jon is afraid to lose his humanity the more he needs anchors to keep him there. Her and Jon's relationship is great.

Melanie and Basira work for the institute now! And Daisy, kind of. Aaah that was so good. First poor Melanie, there wasn't really an opportunity to properly warn her, and then it's so obvious that neither of her new co-workers want her there. Her conversation with Tim in #86 "Tucked In" was great, especially when Tim asks after Sasha ;_; Have I mentioned how much I like Tim? I really hope we'll get another conversation between him and Jon soon, though Tim's dislike of the tape recorder is perfectly understandable. As is his resentment against Jon because it's Jon's fault that Tim came to work for the Archives – yeah Jon didn't know but since when are people rational.

And Daisy almost killed Jon! Poor Jon, what a terrible couple of days: First the encounter with Jude Perry in #89 "Twice as Bright", where he found out much about the "god" he is now bound to and that he can compel answers from people (not sure how strongly he suspected that she was of course going to burn him if he gave her his hand, but she was angry, and if he hadn't her alternative means of revenge might have been much worse), then shortly afterwards the encounter with Michael Crew in #91 "The Coming Storm", who gave his entire statement while Jon felt like he was falling to his death, then right after that Daisy almost killed him but Basira stopped her at the last minute, all of that was so great. And then the confrontation with Elias in #92 "Nothing Beside Remains"! Where Elias admits to killing Gertrude and Jurgen Leitner to everyone, and then blackmails Basira into taking a job in the Institute as hostage against Daisy. I love how loyal they are to each other (they haven't even known each other for long, have they? I'll have to go back and see what we know.)

Then Jon gets kidnapped! And meanwhile all the statements given in the Archives are suddenly not good stories anymore, heh. (All of them sounded concerning and like they should be followed up upon, though…) It's still really weird to me that statements are given directly to the archivists, btw, shouldn't they first be given to the researchers, and only to the archives when the researchers are done? And didn't they used to be written down instead of told? At first I thought that Jon sort of jumped in to take a few personally, but now his assistants are doing it too, odd.

Nikola Orsinov is the first villain that doesn't quite "click" for me, which is a shame. Maybe in the future. But Michael was there! Okay, this time to kill Jon, but he ended up saving him after all. Or rather, Helen Richardson did. Michael having been Gertrude's assistant was something I did not see coming, that was great, as was his whole story. And that it distracted him enough that Helen "took over", so to speak, was of course very lucky for Jon.

It keeps getting better and more exciting and I so look forward to more.

Georgie!!! Georgie schooling Jon on his lack of degree was glorious.

T I M. My love for Tim grows by the day, I swear. He's so angry and so justified in his anger, but he can't seem to point it in the right direction.

Daisy and Basira have been working together (and "partners," interpret that as you will) for a few years now, I think? I'm not sure if it's stated outright but they definitely have some history.

Michael! Helen! Lotion-based trauma! This is one of my favorite stretches of the show (poor Jon, and it's all about him getting tortured) but all the characters are coming together so well. And god, Elias is such a smug bastard, I love him so much.
