schneefink: green cassette tape saying "statement begins... ...statement ends", from TMA (TMA statement cassette darker)

That was a great poem. The rhythm! Beautiful.
"So turn with the turn of the merry-go-round and dance to its jolly old song. Who will you be, with a name or three, and a stranger's face worn wrong?"
(Edit: Formatted in verse form here.)

Jon enjoyed the merry-go-round at the London zoo, but no, he's definitely never been adorable, heh. And the talk about poetry - it's so surprisingly casual, in the middle of the apocalypse. It's so odd how almost relaxed they seem! But it also kinda makes sense: the worst has already happened, and they do have each other now which is more solid support than either of them has had in years.

The confrontation with not!Sasha was great, and I especially loved how Jon was not at all threatened, even amused and condescending. So "we" are far beyond them now, huh? I'm curious about Martin's connection to the Eye, after all he did work at the Institute and in the Archives for years, and even working for Peter didn't sever that completely. Speaking of, I'd also be happy if we got to see some more after-effects of Martin's brush with the Lonely. Especially because it was so much like depression, and that can't just be cured with the power of love like that (it's a nice fantasy but still.) We will if they travel through an area of the Lonely, and it definitely sounded like they'll have to experience all of the Entities. On the other hand the "entities" are made-up human categories, and going through them like a checklist seems a bit too predictable. We'll see.

Not!Sasha hates being ruled by the Eye, but then the Stranger and the Eye are opposite each other. Helen didn't seem to mind, even though I don't think the Eye and the Spiral like each other very much. I really look forward to more avatars' perspectives on this.

That was quite a display of power! As soon as not!Sasha brought up Sasha Jon immediately became furious and basically ripped her apart with his mind. "Ceaseless Watcher, turn your gaze upon this wretched thing" – quite the invocation! Jon invoking the Eye is very interesting indeed, and I'm not surprised that he's disturbed by it. Or maybe that was also because it might have drawn notice? In any case I'm worried about the consequences.
Martin being excited about it was fun though.

Considering that the Archivist had to be touched by all of the other Entities to perform the Eye's ritual, it seems fitting that they need to pass back through them again to reach the Panopticon and maybe do something about all this.

I also loved the poem! It was lovely, and this is possibly my favorite statement, especially recently. :)

True! Something Going Wrong is always possible, but I can see the logic in what's going on before that.

Haha, yeah, same, but I don't really mind that? Like, the content I got out of this statement was honestly really pleasant in comparison to the last few, and mostly just made me go 'this is very fae', which I don't mind at all anyway.

Martin is a sweetheart and I loved his poetry feelings.

That amused me so much. They do, after all, lure you in through your interests and not just your fears-- most of the people working for the Archive were there because they loved knowledge, not because they feared being watched. Maybe the Stranger wants to get his attention.
