Weekend plans

There are quite a few things I recently consumed I want to talk about (recent TMA episodes, recent Skyjacks episodes, Daevabad trilogy, Fatal Journey, The Old Guard...) but my wrists are acting up again so I don't want to type much. This is especially annoying right now because we are planning to go rafting on Saturday (my mother's birthday present), and I misplaced my wrist brace. Hopefully it'll go away quickly, and I'll still think about it later.
DD got a picnic blanket and if weather permits that's our plan for Sunday :) We are also currently trying to make a smoothie every day and while we didn't entirely succeed, 5/7 days is not bad and five more smoothies than we usually make so a clear win.

Good luck with the wrists!

My mom heard about the Daevabad trilogy on the radio and recommended it to me, but I found "City of Brass" a little hard to get through with "this faction was oppressing the proletariat, then this faction took over but then they started oppressing the proletariat, who are the real good guys here" backstory. I mean, maybe it's trying to make a point about RL, but even so.

Yeah, I found the politics in City of Brass somewhat confusing, but fortunately the sequels are clearer about it and do a better job of explaining how they got to this city where you have two oppressed minorities who each make up a third of the population and also everyone hates each other.

Hope your wrists feel better soon and that the picnic is lovely! And yum, smoothies! I myself really should catch up on TMA, I'm at least two episodes behind.

We postponed the picnic - just means more time to prepare next time :)

For the picnic, not really. But all the rain apparently makes for good rafting, more water = more waves, and you get wet anyway :)

The wrists feel better today (but I don't trust them.)
