Skyjacks #67-71

When I first listened to Skyjacks it was mostly while either running or in transit. When I switched to listening to new episodes on my laptop in my room when they came at first I thought the latest episodes just didn't grab me as much for whatever reason, until I realized how much harder I found it not to be distracted by other things. Then I listened to two episodes again while running last weekend and found out it's definitely not the podcast, it's me. (TMA is different, it's shorter, not actual play but scripted, and I listen to new episodes while following along on Discord.)

So I remembered a post I saw on Tumblr, "i can only be podcasted when i'm being debuffed by a hand activity", and today while listening to the new episode I took out the puzzle (and puzzle mat) I got last Christmas & my birthday and for the first time in a long while started doing a puzzle again :) A puzzle with 1000 pieces, a fact I overlooked at first, so this is going to take me a while. It's going to be a shiny cat when it's done (this one), maybe I'll even hang it in my room. I've been looking for things to hang up anyway, it's just so hard to decide.
The podcast + puzzle combination worked very well, so I'll do that again.

I only took very few notes for the last few episodes originally, and then before posting I went through them again and there were more things I wanted to mention, but have I mentioned how inconvenient the lack of a transcript is?, they're still missing a lot. yay more procrastination but I do not have the time to listen to them all again right now, shit

The first half of the episode is strategizing about defeating the Mariner (possibly using bogwine?), and the second half is concerned with the much greater threat: is Orimar Vale talking to Spit? Is Orimar Vale back?
And Orimar Vale promptly ambushes Travis in his quarters later :D First pointing a revolver at him, then handing over the hearts of both Dref and the Banded Queen, ooh.

Thanks for the clarification that pirates have a lot of free time, and that Jonnit finally has his own hammock now (and Slam on the hammock beneath his), and that Gable sleeps only sometimes but when they do it's in the nude near the birds and occasionally using crew members as teddy bears. Though I feel free to take certain details in this episode (all the bathroom stuff) as optional canon.
Big discussion with the crew about what to do, with speeches and everything. The first thing Nodoze says "I believe in Gable" I cannot

The ominous Mariner music is so great. Like the usual "enemy approaching" filtered through ocean waves.
Of course Travis announces the decision he wants, no matter how the vote goes ^^

The Uhuru Death Table! Oh no! (Tbh I'm mostly worried about Nodoze. And wondering if Otto Van Von Veen is on there ^^) In general I think the mechanics for using the crew in the fight is really cool, and I very much look forward to how it'll play out.
Love the new coats. "Travis here is your gift from your friends who hate you," who made sure that the coat made it harder to kill him, aww.

Travis promises not to let Gable be alone ;_; Pinky swear! And then Gable jumps off the ship because emotions.
And Gable not telling him that they can't die aäsldkfas, and then (~0:54) Travis finds out later, right before the ritual… *bites nails*
