Dice Disasters & Yuletide

I only wanted to listen to one episode of "Dice Disasters" today because I really need to get some work for uni done, but then episode 29 ended on an amazing cliffhanger - holy shit Jasmin! Asking for another go at the gauntlet try-outs and showing everyone that she is a changeling, and saying that her wish is to be cured! Aaaaah! The other players' reactions in the background are also beautiful.
The other characters' reactions in the next episode are also great. Especially Max just claiming that he's Fallen too so he gets put in the same part of the prison as Jasmin, and the others being worried and defending Jasmin to the resistance, especially Cody.

Erica as orc naval pirate/Rockstar with her hurdy-gurdy, "Han Solo" the tiefling in stilettos to be taller, Cody as an air genasi with Voltron armor, Max with dress pants and a sheer shirt, and Jasmin with her shapeshifting dress! I really want to see art for that.
Jasmin and AJ, eee! Jasmin likes being animals :) Meanwhile Erica puts on a fantastic performance and gets a sponsor immediately, Cody gets to deal with the eccentric wizard, poor Max gets objectified and insulted, and Zan is sponsored by her warlock patron who calls her "my little pet."

I'm finally caught up now! I'm definitely going to request Dice Disasters for Yuletide :D Great timing that they're starting a hiatus just as I'm catching up, but can't be helped.

I'm not going to request Skyjacks though. I was planning to for the past few months, but I'm still disappointed by what happened in episode 80, and the episodes after that were good but didn't alleviate my concerns, and I don't want to request a fandom that I'm concerned that I'll lose my enthusiasm for before reveals, that'd feel unfair.

I don't 100% know what I want to offer yet, there are some fandoms I'm contemplating but don't want to commit to before seeing some letters, but there are several that I'm excited about offering so I'm sure it'll be fun.

I liked the post about DNWs on yuletide_admin, helpful. It also reminded me to opt-in for interactive fiction, jic. I think IF could work especially well for an RPG-based canon: instead of readers making choices, you could tell them to roll dice :)

Great that you've found another fun podcast! And it's so typical to get into a fandom when the canon is going on hiatus XD

I've just started on Skyjacks, sad to hear something bad happens in ep 80 - is it "disappointed the plot went that way"-bad or "Oh boy, that's iffy"-bad? (am only on ep 3 but I don't mind spoilers).

Agreeing on the post about DNWs being helpful! I've had some years where I've been going ??? at the DNWs and I really don't want to write something that will squick anyone or ruin their holiday gift, so it's a relief that's it's being discussed in more detail. And opting in was a good reminder! I've definitely got some stuff I should opt in for as well, once I finally get around to finishing my requests and offers.

How are you enjoying Skyjacks so far? :D

It was definitely an "I thought it would be A and I loved that and instead it's B" kind of disappointment. From what I could see most of the fandom was delighted. I'm still enjoying the podcast a lot and I suspect that I'd feel differently about requesting Yuletide fic a few episodes later, this is just bad timing.

I've liked the episodes I've heard thus far! Haven't gotten fully engulfed in it yet, but it's promising :)

Totally get not wanting to spend a Yuletide wish slot on a fandom you're not 100% you'll be enthusiastic for come the end of December. I've been weighing my options carefully too, same as with what I'll be offering. Yuletide is tricky!

The sign-up summary tells me that someone is already requesting Skyjacks for Yuletide but sadly there's no letter yet - I wasn't planning on offering, but maaybe... My list of possible treats is growing ^^

I too have fandoms where I'm not confident enough in my future interest to officially offer, but I am stalking the letters and looking forward to the prompt reveals~! I love writing treats and hope to have time to get some done this year *eyes November warily*
