Still escaping the Underworld

After a post about new games, one about my favorite: I'm still playing Hades multiple times a week, though not as often as I used to. My current rank is Sigma Cleaner, I got to 20 Heat with every weapon except spear (18) and rail (17), and I've maxed all weapons aspects. Actually what I most want to do rn is start a new save file - I'm very curious how long it would take me to escape this time! (The first time: 67 escapes with god mode (in 11 days), 103 to get out without (and 330 escapes to get to 32 Heat.)) But I'm soo close to completing the Codex… all I need is to defeat Charon three more times and two damned sturgeons. I think I'll keep playing on this file until I get three more loyalty cards and if I haven't gotten the fish by then, whatever. Though I'm also curious if there's special dialogue after getting all possible bounties, I should play with spear and rail more… There's also a lot I haven't bought from the contractor yet because I didn't like how it looks in the house, but I definitely have the gems, so maybe I'll just buy everything at once.

Story-wise, not much new happened. I was surprised when Hades called himself "God of Death" once, I thought he was the god of the dead, but then Thanatos isn't the god of death he's Death Incarnate – idk how that works. I'm also amused by Hades complimenting Zagreus by telling him "You lack several of my worst traits."

I was HIGHLY amused the first time I got to fight Hades and I was using the Hades keepsake, so when I did my 'call for aid' Zag yelled 'Father!' and he was standing right there and snapped, "What?!"

I love this game's sense of humor and how they include all those little details. Zag's little triumphant move when he catches a fish!

I am currently still trying to be nice to all Zag's relatives so we can have the feast. My best escapes are on 7 heat (sword and shield) and I still suck with the bow and arrow. I'm doing better with the rail gun though!

Coronacht is tricky! I eventually became most comfortable with Aspect of Chiron, it just feels fun to use, especially with Relentless Volley (even more arrows!)

My favorite Zagreus line is "I'll save you from the magma, fishes!" xD

I barely ever use Hades' keepsake but I should do that more often in the Hades fight just because it's fun.

One time Zag had just entered a room and Than was showing up and Zag said 'gah-DONG' with the bell. So stinking cute.

I also have found I prefer the Chiron aspect! Learning to rely on the 'special' instead of aiming and shooting each arrow is way easier.

I don't use the Hades keepsake much bc it doesn't do much for me. Like, okay, I'm invisible? But I'm dealing no extra damage to the boss. It just buys me a few seconds to breathe.

I have recently also played more Rama (aiming is easier because the attack is wider, and the special is faster), which is also fun but I need more practice.

I thought so too, since that is the only thing the description says, but according to the wiki the Hades keepsake gives bonus damage too. I never really noticed myself because I hardly use it, but 100% bonus damage for 5 seconds sounds nice so maybe I should start.

I'll have to try the Hades keepsake again, then! I mostly use the Pomegranate one, bc I love the automatic leveling up. But the hades keepsake is only at two stars and I need to carry it for more encounters to finish leveling it up.

Pom Blossom is one of my favorite keepsakes as well, especially in Tartarus or Styx. For a while I mostly used gods' keepsakes to better control my build, and I still do that sometimes - especially Poseidon because I want to get Huge Catch so I have a better chance of a fishing spot in Greece - but mostly/apart from that I prefer not to use them and just see which gods appear and improvise.

Maybe you've done this already but having Ariadne's thread on you when facing Theseus and Asterius. It'll get you new lines of dialogue on three or four runs.

I did that three times iirc, it was fun - I should do it again, just to make sure I haven't missed anything :)
There's a few more things I know I could do to get extra dialogue, like fighting Meg after emptying the Mirror, I'll get around to that eventually (probably)
