schneefinkI was starting to get interested in the NHL playoffs again, and then the next game Sid had to leave the game because of a hit to the head and I remembered why I stopped watching. Better for my nerves.
I'm currently playing Wandersong because I thought that it made more sense to start a shorter game that I'm less likely to become very invested in before an upcoming exam. Which mostly worked. It took me a while to get into the game but by now I love the story and I can't wait to see how it ends (well I have a good idea of how it will end but there's a large blank space until then with plenty of time for many more interesting twists and turns.) My favorite recent scene was Audrey telling the crew of the boat from Chaandesh, which is at war with Rulle, that the bard and Miriam are criminals because they tricked their way to see the king of Rulle and were thrown into jail and then broke out, and somehow thinking that that would make the bard and Miriam look bad here.
Miriam is my favorite and Audrey is cool too, and I like the bard (mine is called Elyn) too and Rainbow Girl, and Vivian and Sandra of the Spell Squad... I want all the fic about Miriam and Miriam&/Audrey already, and about Miriam and the Spell Squad since Vivian called Miriam "boss."
Also, the fact that all the Steam achievements are for things Audrey, the Hero, did and not things the bard did - even, now that I think about it, the first from before we even met Audrey, it makes sense that she defeated the monster in the ruins and she was probably the one to curse the troll (she doesn't generally use magic apart from her sword, so maybe Rainbow Girl helped, or it was a power from her sword somehow, idk) - fits perfectly, because Audrey is the one getting lauded for her achievements in-world. And most of them have to do with combat. I'll have to examine them in more detail once I've finished the game. I haven't seen Steam achievements used like that before and it's brilliant.
