schneefinkMore notes about DSMP episodes. ….7k of them. Look I just had a lot of thoughts and feelings.
I have now watched all of Techno's DSMP videos and I have Emotions.
Developing the Syndicate
I've seen the meeting with Tommy from Tommy's PoV before, but here Tommy trying to hide in the box was even funnier xD Idk how much of it is just me freely interpreting things but it seemed to me that Techno is very conflicted about how he feels about Tommy.
And then five minutes with Ranboo turn into what, half an hour, including wrangling polar bears and cc!Ranboo being sad he didn't get a Technoplane plushie because they sold out so fast, and Techno suggesting Ranboo build walls and Ranboo being unsure because walls seem like a commitment, and just, Ranboo is adorable and he and Techno are great together, very compatible sense of humor.
In L'Manberg, seeing a poster of "join the Eggpire": wtf? Looks like a government. Then, seeing a poster with simply "egg": looks less like a government ^^
Techno goes to recruit Niki! Who declines because she's busy planning to stab Tommy xD Techno agrees that Tommy is a terrible person, everyone hates him, and wishes her good luck.
I loved Techno asking what she knows about anarchy, Niki saying that it involves a lot of violence, and Techno admitting that this violent anarchist going around blowing things up might give that impression but actually there is a lot more to anarchy than that!, and she should keep it in mind for later.
Pretty green wood for the Syndicate table, nice.
Techno and Ranboo's excellent adventure
Phil just sets up a weird machine in Techno's basement nbd
Ranboo built walls for himself! Which implies commitment! And Techno got maps for an Ocean Mansion (from Orphan's Mom and Orphan's Dad) and says that Ranboo can come along if he insists, mhm.

Ranboo has main character powers! Techno is the sensei who will die early to kickstart Ranboo's hero journey! …this is so darkly funny in hindsight omfg.
Also, Superman is a double orphan, or orphan squared, which is clearly the source of his powers *nods*

Ranboo is not very good at sneaking ^^ did they run out of invis pots?
Techno having to turn off donation notifications because they were ruining the mood xD and then chat just spamming "Blood for the Blood God" the whole time and not wanting any other voices in Techno's head, heh.
BadBoyHalo asking Techno what he wants and Techno saying that basically he's just vibing and doesn't really want anything ^^ And even the people he dislikes, he could take care of them himself, he's pretty good at stabbing things, and he doesn't need things because he's obscenely wealthy etc.
I too want to know what would hatch out of the egg…
And then Techno saying that Ranboo's alright, and Philza's alright too, aww. And then Bad tries to threaten them… Bad is not very good at this. "You have to love the egg before you find out exactly [what it wants]." He said he was not supposed to be alone but the other person slept in, and I'm glad to see that half of chat also immediately made the "George??" joke.
Techno also keeps making jokes about who would possibly destroy an entire town, or threaten or stab a teenager, couldn't be him.
Then Ranboo almost gets stuck in a hole. Ngl I think if his sensei wasn't there Ranboo might have been very susceptible to the Egg if it promised him to e.g. fix his memory problems or rid him of Dream's voice.
Techno is absolutely right, pro-omelett sounds a lot better than anti-egg.
Oh no, Steve almost fell into lava! The zombie piglin walking past Techno, while Ranboo talks to Techno because he just learned about the voices Techno hears (Techno: I can't really distinguish them; donation by millionaire FossilNet: Oh I see how it is), and about Ranboo hearing Dream's voice and the "Enderwalk" – "sleepwalking but main character" ^^ which then gets interrupted with saving Steve and then they forget about it, shame.
First Meeting
Aww, Phil built a cabin right next to Techno's! And they have a bridge between them, and a pond under the bridge with named fish!
Techno about being told on Twitter that the Syndicate sounds like a government: "when you did homework as a group in school, did you form a government? Do you think anarchists don't have friends?" And that the Syndicate is basically a book club ^^
Niki and Ranboo join the Syndicate! Ranboo after being caught looking through Techno's window and then being awkwardly cornered in an alleyway, hah. "Nobody is fit enough to rule over other human beings. Let's be honest, most people aren't smart enough to rule themselves" true
Having a secret meeting room where everyone who sees it the first time gets an achievement, great secrecy xD The new meeting room looks cool.
Secret Syndicate member! "Harpocrates," ok. Phil is Zephyrus, Techno is Protesilaus… After the episode I immediately checked out theories online who Harpocrates might be and saw theories about pretty much everyone, from Dream to Wilbur to Purpled etc.
Techno warning the others about the Eggpire and then saying they will keep an eye out for possible tyrannical governments, but they'll check it out first, not just going around ruining property values etc. They want to check out Snowchester – "Tubbo fell from a high place" – "which I'm sure is ruled only by the most competent of people" xD
So this is where Techno hibernating comes from I suppose. And Phil poking him every couple of days with a stick to see if he's still breathing ^^
Ranboo telling the others that Tommy died – "You remember Tommy, right?" "Oh I hate that guy, screw that guy" - killed by Dream in prison (oof) and all three of them being like "naah, that can't be true, have you seen a body." "Tubbo we're trying to have a moment here can you please stop dying" Ranboo mentioned Tommy was beaten to death, Techno. "yoo, that's a pog, alright, moving on, I hated that guy anyways alright" And Techno talking about how he gave Tommy so many chances only for Tommy to always align himself with the people who stabbed him in the back so at this point Tommy is really not his problem anymore. Phil: "Techno has a heart somewhere in there, I promise, but…" ^^

And then they fight and then Bad accidentally kills him! That was very well done, very dramatic. I now want to watch their entire storyline, except it will have to wait a bit.

I pretty much just joined this server 'I'm gonna tell people to subscribe to Technoblade' and it's gonna be hilarious. And then I went to a festival with a fireworks launcher called 'subscribe to Technoblade' and killed like eight guys and now I have six million subscribers, so that's worked out pretty well.
Techno: Tommy, the first rule of the internet is that you don't mess with the musicians, Tommy. [Frequently when I write Techno dialogue I think I have him mention people's names too often but actually probably not.]

The Favor
Birthday party! Aww, that was sweet. And Techno didn't remember to turn on particle effects at first and missed half the fireworks, oh no xD
So canonically he's just been away training for a few months – or in "Italy," as he told Quackity.
Meanwhile: Tommy got resurrected, Wilbur got resurrected – which Niki didn't yet know about either! He has a bed in Phil's house now? Huh.
Niki later: "Sounds like someone who makes a lot of empty promises. Was it Wilbur?" ^^
Massive training arena under their houses! Very cool.
"How old are you?" "I can't remember, it's been so long." That makes him sound old, but could also just be that he had a time of his life where he didn't really keep track of such things.
I do not trust Quackity one bit, but it is a bit sad that Quackity would be so quick to betray him right after Techno helped him fight the Eggpire.
Visiting Dream
Aww, Phil being so concerned about Techno going to visit Dream in prison because half the people who go there die… Techno doesn't seem very concerned though, but he does give Phil his will to open if he doesn't return in a while.
The prison mechanisms and stuff are very cool!
Dream sounds actually concerned when Techno gets trapped in there with him, and not very good in general. Six months in prison, alone in a cell apart from occasional visits from people who hate you and daily visits from a guy who tortures you, is a lot.
The Prison Podcast ft. Dream
Techno treating this whole thing like a fun vacation, while Dream: they torture me every day! Ouch. But at least not since Techno's there, so things are looking up…
"At least you're not homeless anymore!" "To be fair I did say I had a giant house." "And it is filled with redstone!" […] Dream making a note: Techno admitted I have a house.

A Visitor
Oh yeah, being in prison and helpless while a prison guard in full armor and weapons wants to torture and kill you is not fun. It's also very clear that Quackity didn't really think anything through because Dream and Techno had so many good points why it didn't make sense for Dream to give Quackity the revival book. Like Techno saying that if Quackity kills him, his best friend Dream (they bonded in the past three months!) is a necromancer who could just get him out – and Dream saying that Techno doesn't want to be dead though, it's not exactly a nice experience.
Phil getting Techno out at that exact moment was beautiful timing. It's also hilarious that in-game it's Phil's fault that it took him three months – I do like e.g. the theory that he was just so afraid that Techno was actually dead that he didn't want to look at the will – while out of game it was a schedule issue and poor cc!Phil is completely innocent ^^
Their little settlement looks so good by now btw.

JAILBREAK
The first half of this was one of the first Techno videos I watched, just to see if I was interested in this DSMP thing. Very different experience now that I'm actually familiar with canon, of course.
Achievements giving away secrets is one of my favorite things ^^
I loved Dream's surprise that Techno actually came – and then his annoyance that Techno insisted on getting Ranboo out too. And then Ranboo saying he'd rather stay in jail if that meant Dream stayed in jail too ^^ That would have been a fun conversation to have in advance, heh.
I strongly suspect Connor was lying about why he was in prison, because "stolen valor", wtf. I wonder what it was that he didn't want to admit to… Tbf I don't think he really knows Techno or Dream (except from that time Techno and Tommy tortured him to get Techno's armor back) so not telling them much makes sense.
Noo, Ranboo :( Dream telling Techno to go and apparently willing to wait for Techno but definitely not for Ranboo, Techno telling Sam that he has the wrong hostage against Dream, Dream doesn't care, he cares – and then Sam killed Ranboo :(
Ranboo died, and they don't even know if they need to mourn him or not because they don't know how many lives he still had! That must be so weird!
Techno has no plans for what to do next, except finding out about Michael and getting revenge against Sam, despite the fact that most of the server now knows he broke out Dream from jail… not much foresight smh
Techno asking Dream for his armor back also makes sense especially considering he might be slightly mad at Dream for Ranboo's death (and also it's not very plausible that Dream would not have any armor or other things hidden away somewhere)
I'm always so amused when Techno talks about Doomsday and how he's really getting too much of the blame ^^
Techno trying to find out who Michael is (while Phil clearly knows but doesn't say) is fun. He even leaves the Rocket Launcher at home and then takes off his armor when he sees Tubbo

Tubbo and Techno listening in on the Dream & Sapnap conversation was great. Sapnap saying he told Dream to just stay in prison, Dream telling Sapnap that Quackity was torturing him…
Dream giving Techno the Axe of Peace back is slightly random but nice, and cc!Techno saying he wanted to do a bit where he said that Ranboo's axe is more important to him but now it's ruined because Dream has so many axes anyway ^^
Techno and Tubbo will need to go on a trip together to save Ranboo's son and bond while overcoming many trials, ooh yes. And Eret will be there too presumably, nice.
One of the nukes is missing, yeah that surely will not come up again later
Techno is actually in a not very great position right now. Most of the server hates him for breaking Dream out of prison, and they know where he lives, it would be super easy for them to gang up on him, and especially if Techno has no warning and there are more of them he doesn't really stand a chance…

Punz seeing Dream again was cool, he seemed sincerely concerned for him.
Dead!Ranboo! Talking about how much he enjoys being dead, what a terrible person he was when he was alive… ouch.
Cc!Tommy is such a good actor! Dream coming after Tommy was genuinely scary, saying that everyone thinks he has changed but Dream is going to make Tommy's life a living hell and will just keep killing and reviving him and never let him die… But Tommy resists Dream's manipulations, says that he has friends and he earned the Axe of Peace for doing the right thing and telling Dream he's just a bully, Tommy has come so far. (Also, the blooper in the middle of that scene where Tommy accidentally dies, which I saw in a clip elsewhere, just makes the acting even more impressive.) (Tommy also tells Dream that with great power comes great responsibility and Dream has no responsibility, and it occurred to me that that very much describes Techno as well, he takes a disproportionately small amount of responsibility considering the power he wields simply by being a very powerful and rich warrior with loyal friends.)
Tommy runs to Phil to protect him and Phil does and tells him he believes him and he's safe here - and then Phil tells him that he helped Techno break Dream out of prison, "just business," just because Techno owed Dream a favor and Phil wanted to help his friend. And Tommy points out that that is bullshit. Then they talk about Doomsday again, Tommy saying they didn't have to destroy L'Manberg and Phil saying they had to to get through (Tommy asks what the message even was, so clearly they failed at that) and talking about setting the others free from caring about their material possessions (as if Phil wouldn't be sad if their cabins in the wood were destroyed), and Tommy saying sometimes it's not about the things but about the meanings behind them. And Tommy saying he forgives Phil for L'Manberg… Tommy is actually pretty generous with forgiveness I think. Phil looks like a dick here.
Tommy is having one of his worst days and then finds out Ranboo died, and now there's this weird "Boo" guy, how are you supposed to mourn when the person you're mourning is right there, just different? …wow I want so much about mourning culture in this world.
Big Q telling Tommy that he'll be here for him…idk if I trust him…
Sam warning Tommy too and giving him stuff – at least Tommy isn't completely alone.
Jack confronting Niki was painful and great as well.
Sapnap and Dream! Sapnap refusing to give Dream his armor (taunting Dream about George), and Dream running and threatening Kinoko kingdom (Dream saying he bets Techno knows where Kinoko is – hah, he definitely doesn't; but also, Dream wanting to give Sapnap the impression that Technoblade is still his ally and would work together with him makes complete sense.) Dammit, now I also want a lot more Dream & Sapnap history.
This is such a great addition to only Techno's perspective because Techno has no clue about all the things Dream has actually done on the server. Okay he has some idea but doesn't know anything about the scale, and so he doesn't really know what it means what he's done. Phil and Niki both know it a lot better, but they value Techno so much that they're willing to support him in this – and, crucially, not even question his judgment. (Interestingly, when they defend his actions to other people they keep mentioning that Techno owed Dream a favor, while when Techno explained it to them he also emphasized that he'd want to take apart the prison anyway regardless of whether or not Dream is in there, after being stuck there for three months without any trial or anything (again) and almost being beaten to death.) It would have been really interesting if Ranboo had been there for that discussion, but he was already in prison. I think Ranboo might have actually argued with Techno, but most likely not succeeded in changing his mind and instead decided to stay out of it, and maybe warned Tubbo though and then Tubbo Tommy and depending on if that was on time…
Dream also specifically said that everyone will think he's changed and that Tommy is crazy, and I think he knows it's not everyone but I suspect that he's deliberately targeting Techno. Dream and Techno just spent three months locked in jail together, under constant threat of torture and even death! Of course they would bond, and of course Dream could use that opportunity very easily to show Techno what he wants him to see. Techno isn't stupid and he's not even that bad at people but despite all of his experiences, I think Techno secretly wants to trust people, and that's a weakness that Dream would exploit. Dream knows that Techno is one of the few people on the server who could actually be very dangerous to him so he makes sure that Techno would be hesitant to go after him.
Also, with these clips Dream giving Techno the Axe of Peace back seems a lot more sinister, because if Tommy realizes that Techno has it again it will make it even harder for Tommy and Techno to possibly one day reconcile.
TommyVOD: The Green Smile That Haunts Me
Tommy meeting Phil while Phil is fishing in his underground training arena (which is still very pretty) Tommy confessing to Phil that when he had to choose between the discs and Tubbo he hesitated, and Phil saying he can't believe Tommy would do that, and asking Tommy to take something out of his inventory and then Phil burns it, just like that. And Phil telling Tommy to do stupid mindless labor without explanation when Tommy doesn't want to, telling Tommy not to think about it – Phil is being a dick here. Telling Tommy that Tubbo exiled him over nothing, only material things, is also gravely misrepresenting the situation and really doesn't help. Uuugh. I want Tommy to have a better mentor figure! Phil telling Tommy he should tear down his walls to set himself free and that he's strong enough to take on Dream… To be fair he's right that those walls are ineffective.
With Tommy hiding out in that training arena, I wonder what if he met Techno there…

And then he finds this weird shrine to Dream with a sign "he didn't even do anything wrong," wtf. Running back to Phil but also saying he can't live his life like this, can't just be a fucking puppet of Dream…
And then he gets back to the cabins and sees a sign written in green "I got him too :)" oh shit. Tommy didn't even check the training arena, he's so clearly panicking. Phil's book: "Don't let this feeling consume you, rise above it, control it… You can do this."
"I need a place to feel safe, where do I feel safe." So he builds himself a saferoom out of obsidian in Tubbo's house.
Sapnap checking on Tommy because he heard him panicking, Sapnap saying he believes Tommy, telling Tommy that he took Dream's armor and that Dream first pretended they were just friends again and then threatened Kinoko Kingdom. Yeah there are indeed many people who don't understand how serious this is… Yess Sapnap and Tommy deciding to kill Dream together. They'll prepare, and then they'll hunt Dream down asap and kill him.
Hmm, thinking back to how they managed to defeat Dream the first time: they needed both overwhelming force, and Tommy threatening to kill himself. The first one is going to be tricky, and the second one alone doesn't work anymore because Dream could simply bring him back. It's going to be difficult. (And if they kill Dream, because they've learned by now that he's too dangerous to keep alive even though he's the only one who can resurrect people, the question becomes: did Dream really not tell anyone else how to revive people? Not even Punz? …I am so curious about the story behind Dream and Punz and how Dream gained his loyalty and just how much trust there really is between them.)
Then Phil shows up again and Tommy shows him what Dream left in his house, hopefully Phil finally starts understanding that Dream really is after Tommy to drive him insane, as Tommy says, even though the most Phil says is that this is weird.
Phil saying that if it comes down to it he'll help Tommy when he's desperate for help but "you know me, I will just stand back and let people work their way around things" Indeed.
So sad to hear about how Tommy was having such a good time with his hotel before he got stuck in prison and murdered and revived, and then Jack even stole his hotel, mean
Sam Nook! Some kind of robot? And so supportive of Tommy, aww. And he makes Tommy feel safer and Tommy trusts him.

A short but very cinematic installment with Dream PoV, for once! With Dream and Punz conspiring and deciding to kill Vikk and Lazar multiple times to test the revival book, because nobody would miss them. Harsh but clearly true.

If the idea from the beginning was to use Michael to control Ranboo to control Techno, then Sam would have tried to use Ranboo against Techno and not against Dream directly. Either there was another reason Sam wanted Ranboo – which is completely plausible, especially if he suspected Ranboo to work together with Dream, which Ranboo did though unknowingly in his Enderwalk state – or he simply panicked/made a mistake and killed Ranboo before he meant to.

Developing the Syndicate
I've seen the meeting with Tommy from Tommy's PoV before, but here Tommy trying to hide in the box was even funnier xD Idk how much of it is just me freely interpreting things but it seemed to me that Techno is very conflicted about how he feels about Tommy.
And then five minutes with Ranboo turn into what, half an hour, including wrangling polar bears and cc!Ranboo being sad he didn't get a Technoplane plushie because they sold out so fast, and Techno suggesting Ranboo build walls and Ranboo being unsure because walls seem like a commitment, and just, Ranboo is adorable and he and Techno are great together, very compatible sense of humor.
In L'Manberg, seeing a poster of "join the Eggpire": wtf? Looks like a government. Then, seeing a poster with simply "egg": looks less like a government ^^
Techno goes to recruit Niki! Who declines because she's busy planning to stab Tommy xD Techno agrees that Tommy is a terrible person, everyone hates him, and wishes her good luck.
I loved Techno asking what she knows about anarchy, Niki saying that it involves a lot of violence, and Techno admitting that this violent anarchist going around blowing things up might give that impression but actually there is a lot more to anarchy than that!, and she should keep it in mind for later.

Techno warning the others about the Eggpire and then saying they will keep an eye out for possible tyrannical governments, but they'll check it out first, not just going around ruining property values etc. They want to check out Snowchester – "Tubbo fell from a high place" – "which I'm sure is ruled only by the most competent of people" xD
So this is where Techno hibernating comes from I suppose. And Phil poking him every couple of days with a stick to see if he's still breathing ^^

Meanwhile: Tommy got resurrected, Wilbur got resurrected – which Niki didn't yet know about either! He has a bed in Phil's house now? Huh.

Massive training arena under their houses! Very cool.
"How old are you?" "I can't remember, it's been so long." That makes him sound old, but could also just be that he had a time of his life where he didn't really keep track of such things.
I do not trust Quackity one bit, but it is a bit sad that Quackity would be so quick to betray him right after Techno helped him fight the Eggpire.
Visiting Dream
Aww, Phil being so concerned about Techno going to visit Dream in prison because half the people who go there die… Techno doesn't seem very concerned though, but he does give Phil his will to open if he doesn't return in a while.
The prison mechanisms and stuff are very cool!
Dream sounds actually concerned when Techno gets trapped in there with him, and not very good in general. Six months in prison, alone in a cell apart from occasional visits from people who hate you and daily visits from a guy who tortures you, is a lot.

A Visitor
Oh yeah, being in prison and helpless while a prison guard in full armor and weapons wants to torture and kill you is not fun. It's also very clear that Quackity didn't really think anything through because Dream and Techno had so many good points why it didn't make sense for Dream to give Quackity the revival book. Like Techno saying that if Quackity kills him, his best friend Dream (they bonded in the past three months!) is a necromancer who could just get him out – and Dream saying that Techno doesn't want to be dead though, it's not exactly a nice experience.
Phil getting Techno out at that exact moment was beautiful timing. It's also hilarious that in-game it's Phil's fault that it took him three months – I do like e.g. the theory that he was just so afraid that Techno was actually dead that he didn't want to look at the will – while out of game it was a schedule issue and poor cc!Phil is completely innocent ^^
Their little settlement looks so good by now btw.

The first half of this was one of the first Techno videos I watched, just to see if I was interested in this DSMP thing. Very different experience now that I'm actually familiar with canon, of course.
Achievements giving away secrets is one of my favorite things ^^
I loved Dream's surprise that Techno actually came – and then his annoyance that Techno insisted on getting Ranboo out too. And then Ranboo saying he'd rather stay in jail if that meant Dream stayed in jail too ^^ That would have been a fun conversation to have in advance, heh.
I strongly suspect Connor was lying about why he was in prison, because "stolen valor", wtf. I wonder what it was that he didn't want to admit to… Tbf I don't think he really knows Techno or Dream (except from that time Techno and Tommy tortured him to get Techno's armor back) so not telling them much makes sense.
Noo, Ranboo :( Dream telling Techno to go and apparently willing to wait for Techno but definitely not for Ranboo, Techno telling Sam that he has the wrong hostage against Dream, Dream doesn't care, he cares – and then Sam killed Ranboo :(
Ranboo died, and they don't even know if they need to mourn him or not because they don't know how many lives he still had! That must be so weird!
Techno has no plans for what to do next, except finding out about Michael and getting revenge against Sam, despite the fact that most of the server now knows he broke out Dream from jail… not much foresight smh
Techno asking Dream for his armor back also makes sense especially considering he might be slightly mad at Dream for Ranboo's death (and also it's not very plausible that Dream would not have any armor or other things hidden away somewhere)
I'm always so amused when Techno talks about Doomsday and how he's really getting too much of the blame ^^

Dream giving Techno the Axe of Peace back is slightly random but nice, and cc!Techno saying he wanted to do a bit where he said that Ranboo's axe is more important to him but now it's ruined because Dream has so many axes anyway ^^
Techno and Tubbo will need to go on a trip together to save Ranboo's son and bond while overcoming many trials, ooh yes. And Eret will be there too presumably, nice.

Techno is actually in a not very great position right now. Most of the server hates him for breaking Dream out of prison, and they know where he lives, it would be super easy for them to gang up on him, and especially if Techno has no warning and there are more of them he doesn't really stand a chance…

Punz seeing Dream again was cool, he seemed sincerely concerned for him.
Dead!Ranboo! Talking about how much he enjoys being dead, what a terrible person he was when he was alive… ouch.
Cc!Tommy is such a good actor! Dream coming after Tommy was genuinely scary, saying that everyone thinks he has changed but Dream is going to make Tommy's life a living hell and will just keep killing and reviving him and never let him die… But Tommy resists Dream's manipulations, says that he has friends and he earned the Axe of Peace for doing the right thing and telling Dream he's just a bully, Tommy has come so far. (Also, the blooper in the middle of that scene where Tommy accidentally dies, which I saw in a clip elsewhere, just makes the acting even more impressive.) (Tommy also tells Dream that with great power comes great responsibility and Dream has no responsibility, and it occurred to me that that very much describes Techno as well, he takes a disproportionately small amount of responsibility considering the power he wields simply by being a very powerful and rich warrior with loyal friends.)
Tommy runs to Phil to protect him and Phil does and tells him he believes him and he's safe here - and then Phil tells him that he helped Techno break Dream out of prison, "just business," just because Techno owed Dream a favor and Phil wanted to help his friend. And Tommy points out that that is bullshit. Then they talk about Doomsday again, Tommy saying they didn't have to destroy L'Manberg and Phil saying they had to to get through (Tommy asks what the message even was, so clearly they failed at that) and talking about setting the others free from caring about their material possessions (as if Phil wouldn't be sad if their cabins in the wood were destroyed), and Tommy saying sometimes it's not about the things but about the meanings behind them. And Tommy saying he forgives Phil for L'Manberg… Tommy is actually pretty generous with forgiveness I think. Phil looks like a dick here.
Tommy is having one of his worst days and then finds out Ranboo died, and now there's this weird "Boo" guy, how are you supposed to mourn when the person you're mourning is right there, just different? …wow I want so much about mourning culture in this world.
Big Q telling Tommy that he'll be here for him…idk if I trust him…
Sam warning Tommy too and giving him stuff – at least Tommy isn't completely alone.
Jack confronting Niki was painful and great as well.
Sapnap and Dream! Sapnap refusing to give Dream his armor (taunting Dream about George), and Dream running and threatening Kinoko kingdom (Dream saying he bets Techno knows where Kinoko is – hah, he definitely doesn't; but also, Dream wanting to give Sapnap the impression that Technoblade is still his ally and would work together with him makes complete sense.) Dammit, now I also want a lot more Dream & Sapnap history.
This is such a great addition to only Techno's perspective because Techno has no clue about all the things Dream has actually done on the server. Okay he has some idea but doesn't know anything about the scale, and so he doesn't really know what it means what he's done. Phil and Niki both know it a lot better, but they value Techno so much that they're willing to support him in this – and, crucially, not even question his judgment. (Interestingly, when they defend his actions to other people they keep mentioning that Techno owed Dream a favor, while when Techno explained it to them he also emphasized that he'd want to take apart the prison anyway regardless of whether or not Dream is in there, after being stuck there for three months without any trial or anything (again) and almost being beaten to death.) It would have been really interesting if Ranboo had been there for that discussion, but he was already in prison. I think Ranboo might have actually argued with Techno, but most likely not succeeded in changing his mind and instead decided to stay out of it, and maybe warned Tubbo though and then Tubbo Tommy and depending on if that was on time…
Dream also specifically said that everyone will think he's changed and that Tommy is crazy, and I think he knows it's not everyone but I suspect that he's deliberately targeting Techno. Dream and Techno just spent three months locked in jail together, under constant threat of torture and even death! Of course they would bond, and of course Dream could use that opportunity very easily to show Techno what he wants him to see. Techno isn't stupid and he's not even that bad at people but despite all of his experiences, I think Techno secretly wants to trust people, and that's a weakness that Dream would exploit. Dream knows that Techno is one of the few people on the server who could actually be very dangerous to him so he makes sure that Techno would be hesitant to go after him.
Also, with these clips Dream giving Techno the Axe of Peace back seems a lot more sinister, because if Tommy realizes that Techno has it again it will make it even harder for Tommy and Techno to possibly one day reconcile.
TommyVOD: The Green Smile That Haunts Me
Tommy meeting Phil while Phil is fishing in his underground training arena (which is still very pretty) Tommy confessing to Phil that when he had to choose between the discs and Tubbo he hesitated, and Phil saying he can't believe Tommy would do that, and asking Tommy to take something out of his inventory and then Phil burns it, just like that. Uuuh. I know Phil meant well but oof. Prioritizing people over things doesn't mean that you can't be sad when items are gone, or when someone destroys something you value just to make a point! And Phil telling Tommy to do stupid mindless labor without explanation when Tommy doesn't want to, telling Tommy not to think about it – Phil is being a dick here. Telling Tommy that Tubbo exiled him over nothing, only material things, is also gravely misrepresenting the situation and really doesn't help. Uuugh. I want Tommy to have a better mentor figure! Phil telling Tommy he should tear down his walls to set himself free and that he's strong enough to take on Dream… To be fair he's right that those walls are ineffective.
With Tommy hiding out in that training arena, I wonder what if he met Techno there…
Tommy: "I've got the blade," referring to his literal sword this time, nice call-back showcasing that Tommy is now much more self-reliant
Tommy returning to his base and hearing Dream say "Tommy, want to drop your items in the hole," and "I'm gonna make every day for you a living hell," ouch. No wonder he immediately shouts for Phil. And then he finds this weird shrine to Dream with a sign "he didn't even do anything wrong," wtf. Running back to Phil but also saying he can't live his life like this, can't just be a fucking puppet of Dream…
And then he gets back to the cabins and sees a sign written in green "I got him too :)" oh shit. Tommy didn't even check the training arena, he's so clearly panicking. Phil's book: "Don't let this feeling consume you, rise above it, control it… You can do this."
"I need a place to feel safe, where do I feel safe." So he builds himself a saferoom out of obsidian in Tubbo's house.
Sapnap checking on Tommy because he heard him panicking, Sapnap saying he believes Tommy, telling Tommy that he took Dream's armor and that Dream first pretended they were just friends again and then threatened Kinoko Kingdom. Yeah there are indeed many people who don't understand how serious this is… Yess Sapnap and Tommy deciding to kill Dream together. They'll prepare, and then they'll hunt Dream down asap and kill him.
Hmm, thinking back to how they managed to defeat Dream the first time: they needed both overwhelming force, and Tommy threatening to kill himself. The first one is going to be tricky, and the second one alone doesn't work anymore because Dream could simply bring him back. It's going to be difficult. (And if they kill Dream, because they've learned by now that he's too dangerous to keep alive even though he's the only one who can resurrect people, the question becomes: did Dream really not tell anyone else how to revive people? Not even Punz? …I am so curious about the story behind Dream and Punz and how Dream gained his loyalty and just how much trust there really is between them.)
Then Phil shows up again and Tommy shows him what Dream left in his house, hopefully Phil finally starts understanding that Dream really is after Tommy to drive him insane, as Tommy says, even though the most Phil says is that this is weird.
Phil saying that if it comes down to it he'll help Tommy when he's desperate for help but "you know me, I will just stand back and let people work their way around things" Indeed.
So sad to hear about how Tommy was having such a good time with his hotel before he got stuck in prison and murdered and revived, and then Jack even stole his hotel, mean
Sam Nook! Some kind of robot? And so supportive of Tommy, aww. And he makes Tommy feel safer and Tommy trusts him.

Connor says he was in prison for six months, in solitary, without due process, sheesh. Says he got through it mentally with stoicism, and thoughts about the economy and communism and capitalism etc., he's great at comedy

Yeah the justice system on this SMP is pretty terrible.

And then Tommy trolling Eryn by constantly asking him to talk and then interrupting him, then "as a prank" tells Eryn to attack Sam Nook and tells Sam Nook that Eryn is a threat that needs to be executed, then Sam kills Eryn and Tommy says "oh look, free stuff" – to be fair it's clearly okay because Tommy said it's a prank
Aww, cc!Tommy thinking they were talking about cc!Dream and defending him sand saying he's lovely, and then realizing they're still in a lore stream and saying fuck Dream xD (Now I kind of want h/c RPF fic where cc!Tommy and cc!Dream are good friends who really enjoy creating this storyline together, and then cc!Tommy starts having nightmares about c!Dream but he doesn't want cc!Dream to know; or cc!Dream starts having nightmares about hurting Tommy...)

Dream SMP: The Revival Book…
A short but very cinematic installment with Dream PoV, for once! With Dream and Punz conspiring and deciding to kill Vikk and Lazar multiple times to test the revival book, because nobody would miss them. Harsh but clearly true.
And is that confirmation that Dream influenced Ranboo so that Ranboo placed the TNT that trapped Tommy in prison? Ouch.
And BadBoyHalo giving Ranboo maps – is he too still working together with Dream? Hmm.

Techno playing around with chat settings so only people who've been subscribed for a specific amount of time can chat, and Eryn messaging him in-game that he got locked out after the more-than-1-year ban and has never been more embarrassed ^^

Dream telling Techno where Sam lives makes a lot of sense because he could be reasonably confident that Techno too would want revenge on Sam.

If the idea from the beginning was to use Michael to control Ranboo to control Techno, then Sam would have tried to use Ranboo against Techno and not against Dream directly. Either there was another reason Sam wanted Ranboo – which is completely plausible, especially if he suspected Ranboo to work together with Dream, which Ranboo did though unknowingly in his Enderwalk state – or he simply panicked/made a mistake and killed Ranboo before he meant to.
Sam saying he was right to imprison Techno because Techno did break Dream out *facepalm*
So they're imprisoning Sam in Pandora's Vault, that cannot possibly go wrong. …also, who is going to feed him? Oh man, Sam so clearly wanted to do right but just messed it real bad, and, well, Tubbo isn't feeling very forgiving because his husband was killed and his kid was kidnapped (at least the kid was recovered.) I really want to see "Boo" interact with Tubbo and/or Techno.

Phil has a pumpkin farm with walls made out of honey! Pretty sure that was just for aesthetics and because they have so much extra honey but still cool.
