Farscape 2x04 Crackers Don't Matter

I was disappointed by 2x03: I liked the cemetery planet concept, I like the idea that Chiana had a brother, I liked some of the Aeryn&Chiana interaction, and I like that Chiana jumped in the end, but other than that I didn't enjoy it very much, and the strange colors and totally predictable sideplot with Rygel didn't help any.

So I actually took a break from inhaling episodes as fast as possible, I was surprised myself. But now I watched 2x04 and that probably won't last.

Favorite exchange of the episode:
Scorpius, in a ridiculous Hawaii shirt: "Kill her! Then we'll have pizza and margarita shooters! Go on, John. Kill her. Do it! Do it."
John turns to him with two guns in his hands: "Nobody. Has margaritas. With pizza."
Scorpius, kindly: "You're out of your mind, John."

And: "Humans are superior!" I loved that there was an actual reason that John was (slightly) less affected than the others: because his species is defective. John Crichton, most ridiculous knight ever. He even does poses! They are all doomed.

Some of the less hilarious scenes were quite intense. That one where D'Argo tries to kill Rygel - ouch. At least D'Argo sincerely asked for forgiveness, and Rygel didn't grant it immediately because of course something like that would make a lasting impression.
Chiana, on the other hand, pretends to shrug of John's brutal assault on her (ouch) because that's how she deals. *hugs her*

Pilot says he doesn't like or trust any of the crew. I wonder how T'raltixx managed to influence him so quickly? Because that's patently untrue, just look at Through The Looking Glass. T'raltixx was a bit ridiculous ("More light! I need more light!"), but the focus was never on him.

The going-crazy was also nicely emphasized by the camera. Judging by how quickly they were affected, iirc, Chiana and D'Argo have the best eyesight, then Rygel and Aeryn. And Zhaan has light orgasms.

Oh, I LOVE this episode! It's one of my favorites!
I agree that many scenes were quite intense, I love the part where Aeryn is holding a gun to her head and the way she laughs when John asks her to look at what she is doing, so awesome and unsettling.

You have so much more show left to watch, I envy you :)

One of my favorite things about the show so far is that there are funny scenes and serious scenes, and they're clearly separated. The fact that John has a wacky hallucination isn't used to make him assaulting Chiana funny or less horrible.
