schneefinkI watched Wilbur's DSMP finale! Not live because I was at a birthday party (where I learned about Diggy Diggy Hole and happened to meet a Hermitcraft fan), but I looked up spoilers on the way home, and then DD and I watched it for breakfast. It was somehow perfectly fitting. Cc!Wilbur is a combination of dramatic emo kid and an agent of chaos, and the finale for c!Wilbur was both emotional and ridiculous. Also there are so many cracky lore implications xD
So for c!Wilbur, the DSMP was basically an isekai experience?? *g* Though I think he implied he knew where he was going, sort of. Also, if his outfit from MCC 7 was his gas station uniform… Phil, Techno, and Seapeekay were on that team with him in the same uniforms, so does that mean that Phil, Techno, and Seapeekay also worked there? So when Techno said where he comes from people only have one life, he meant Earth? Ooor not, because MCC is not DSMP canon anyway. (Apparently cc!Wilbur filmed his cosplay scene in Utah in April, so I choose to believe that he definitely told cc!Techno all about his plans. I think he said later that he's been thinking about this for a year.) Well, clearly it's an AU Utah anyway, because apparently one can sail to AU Utah, idk.
Wilbur and Tommy were great together though. (Wilbur giving Tommy the book to read silently was a bit of a cop-out but okay.) I liked Wilbur confessing that he didn't apologize to Tommy because Phil told him that when you ask for forgiveness people don't have to forgive you and you have to accept that and leave them alone, and Wilbur was scared Tommy wouldn't forgive him and he couldn't cope with the idea of – well, he said not seeing Tommy again, except he left for Utah, I think it was more he couldn't cope with the idea of Tommy saying he wanted Wilbur to leave him alone. Which is very obviously an anxiety thing because Tommy could not have made it clearer that he wanted Wilbur around. Wilbur first said they will probably not see each other again, then says he is sure they will, corrects to maybe, then says he hopes they will.
Also he mentioned in the "flashback" bit earlier that he and Tommy met on SMP Earth so that is definitely canon in the DSMP now, in some way. As is MCM; but not MCC as far as I am aware, that would be very hard to integrate.
(In general we know little about all characters before they came to this server! Makes some things difficult.)
Poor Tommy though. Left standing in the rain watching Wilbur leave... he didn't use to be this angry, he said, aslödkfs. A lot has happened. At least he managed to make Wilbur actually talk with him before he left.
I'm sad that Wilbur felt so, hm, uncomfortable or no longer at home in the DSMP that he felt like he had to leave, but I hope it does help him; but at the same time, he left Utah because it wasn't home either, so…
I don't really want to/think it's useful to think of Utah/DSMP as a fiction/meta-narrative thing, I haven't thought it through but I don't like the implications, think I prefer to just think of it as two different worlds, one of which happens to work by completely different rules. Someone on Tumblr mentioned that a "Wilbur goes home" narrative could only work if it was ridiculous, there was no way to make it serious and not seem out of place, and I think they might be right. (I have seen some good discussions on Tumblr about the ending, convenient.)
I didn't get around to watching Eret's latest streams yet, though I've been planning to, but I saw the book Wilbur wrote for them, and he not only told them they're not the villain which I'm sure meant a lot to Eret (I really want to watch more of their PoV, early and recent, but time…), but he also wrote "c u in ut", which might just have been to troll people but I also enjoy the implication that he expects/hopes to see Eret in Utah somehow. …so many possibilities.
Very excited for volume 2. Several other people said their characters' finales will be soon, exciting. There's some characters whose stories I want to catch up on anyway, but I wonder in general how much it will be a benefit in v2 to know more of v1 – maybe I'll just read some more in the wiki.
Afterwards I watched Ranboo's VOD from playing on MCCI with Wilbur right afterwards, and Wilbur said he's team Purple on MCCI because of MCC 4, aösdklfsd. And Wilbur telling Ranboo he didn't put him down for the next MCC because he thinks Ranboo deserves a better team ^^
Later, someone suggests Ranboo should go on Love or Host and Ranboo says that's his nightmare scenario, and Wilbur says that's what Techno would say, whenever Wilbur would say "you should go on Love or Host" (which must have been to troll him) he'd be like "that is just hell for me." …the mental image xD
Wilbur complaining that he can't get away from anteaters because people liked his rant about hating them so much, hah, played yourself.
Wilbur told Tommy to watch coming-of-age films ^^
Ranboo: can we do Dream SMP volume 3 and it's all just us LARPing in a field? - yes please ^^
I was surprised when they talked about their pre-streamer ~career plans, I thought they knew each other for a while, but then, not really something that necessarily comes up.
Wilbur: would you really get me pansies? […] flowers exist outside of shops. Ranboo: No they don't, silly.
Ranboo talked about how he only needs to sleep eight hours a night anymore which gives him an extra two hours; and later mentions that as long as he's not so exhausted he's dropping he has a hum in his chest that lets him stay high energy, he totally a generator
Apparently Tommy collects Lego now and Wilbur enjoys stealing his figurines, of course he does.

It is a very nice server (Ranboo is right that it will probably draw people away from Hypixel.)

They said they didn't want to do a complete reset and lose all of the history, so I don't think there'll be new characters. (Even though that would make it much easier for new people to pick up.) Some people are speculating about a changed timeline, since one character is a time traveler, that could be interesting.
Yeah, no Techno will be strange.
