I'm baffled by how many "top X of 2022"/"2022 wrap-up" etc. posts I've already seen. There's still an entire month to go! Does December not count for some reason? Idk.

To be fair, at this point I just sort of want 2022 to die in a fire, so maybe people are jumping ahead in the hopes it'll get over with faster. XD But yeah, I know what you mean; I've seen a few of those around too.

Fair point, and doing the end-of-year posts in December probably means one thinks less about 2022 once it's finally over ^^

This is me. I know people who have had an objectively worse 2022, and some nice stuff did happen this year for me, but I have also had some shitty stuff happen too and I just want 2023 to come and be better.

I know that in the Newbery discussion "books that came out in December" is a big pain point because you only have one round of nominations to get them in which means someone has to be paying attention to those last few books of the year because no one wants to be the year that missed the obvious contender which happened to come out in December.
