Tomorrow work starts again. This was not the greatest vacation tbh, first I had jaw pain and then when that got better I got my period, but it was still at least somewhat relaxing. I failed most of my plans to do anything productive, including tidying up etc., though I did manage to reduce my browser tabs from over 650 (sadly I forgot to check at the beginning) to 170. I also went to two museums, went running with my dad, and I went bouldering with friends today for the first time in about five years. I'm very out of practice.

I did watch some of the things on my "to watch" list. The Life/Traffic Light SMP series has been on my that list for a while now, and thanks to a (spoilery) comment on ff_a I finally watched the first one, Third Life, from Grian's PoV and it was great. I'm always here for tragic loyalty storylines and this one was fantastic. The series takes place in a very small world with about a dozen players and the premise is that everyone only has three lives: on your first and second lives, green and yellow respectively, you are not allowed to kill unless attacked, but on your third life you become hostile and your goal is to attack other players. Only one can survive.

I know enough about Grian by now that I would classify him as a force of chaos, and I was unsurprised that he tried to prank people by luring a creeper over to them. I also know enough about Scar by now to know that he has a tendency to die in ridiculous ways so I was also not surprised that that creeper killed him xD Grian then swearing loyalty to Scar until he loses his own first life was such a great development. Thus followed several episodes of Grian telling Scar to put his clothes on, bemoaning that he had to serve a madman and unsuccessfully warning people that Scar was trying to scam them. Scar is such a good example for a maxed out charisma character xD

Things changed when Scar died for the second time, in a no less silly accident. Now Scar aimed to kill others (except Grian, because Grian was bound to him), and while he couldn't order Grian to outright kill people, he could order Grian to set up traps. Which honestly came down to the same thing, with the twist that Grian was usually the one suggesting the traps and soon had the highest kill count on the server. (Grian's occasional "this is why my trap didn't work" segments at the end of the videos were educational too, nice bonus ^^) At one point Grian talked about how weird it was that while he was green he had to follow Scar's orders and kill people, when he lost his first life he'd be free again and peaceful, and then on his third life he'd kill people again.

Instead, when Grian finally went yellow as one of the last people to do so, he immediately charged back into the fight on Scar's side, he kept worrying about keeping Scar safe, and said that Scar was the only one he could trust. Then, when there's only three people left alive (and Scar, who died first and turned red first, miraculously one of them), Scar becomes worried because he realizes Grian doesn't have to follow him anymore, Grian suggests that they can just "arrange for him to win the series," Scar "betrays" him by basically making Grian and Bdubs, who's become a loyal follower because Scar gave him a clock, fight for a "no-kill-pass" and then attacks Grian who loses! "I can't believe Scar would – actually, you know what, I absolutely 100% knew that Scar would probably betray me in the end, especially over a bit of paper." But Grian still has one life left (and even some supplies stashed away) so he comes back to take his revenge - Scar whispers to him that he has a plan but Grian immediately attacks, kills Bdubs (with Scar's help!) and then he goes to take his revenge on Scar, but Scar surrenders and says Grian can kill him! But Grian doesn't want to! "You can kill me." – "W-what, no." "For everything you did to me to keep me alive this long, you may slay me and take the enchanter." "No I can't, no I literally can't – I can't do it." Scar with his head bowed – have I mentioned that previously Grian had started calling Scar king? Mmm yes, so good.

But the Forces of the game demand that they fight to the death! Scar asks Grian not to let the spectators break up their friendship but they have no choice. They have their last bro moment as friends in a boat in a pond, remembering the good times, before they duel in a ring of cacti at the grave of their llama Pizza with their bare fists! They agree to count it as a double victory before their fight during which they both apologize to each other, Scar barely fights back and dies, and then Grian throws himself off a cliff!

I had to watch Scar's PoV of that finale too. After Grian loses his second life he's unsure what to do, but decides Bdubs is dead to him when he says his favorite watch is a Nokia xD And after Grian says he can't kill him: "Oh, okay. So what do you want to do. Do you wanna fix our sandcastle?" And on the way to their final duel he tells Grian that he couldn't betray him in the end because they've been through too much. Yess the good stuff.

So to sum up, I loved it. On the one hand I think it would be fun to watch more perspectives from this season (I only found out Scott and Jimmy got married when Scott said his husband died), otoh I want to watch the other seasons and I will probably do that first.

I did already start watching the newest, fourth season that just started, Limited Life, both episodes from Scar's PoV plus two from the Bad Boys. I enjoy the bread bridge and all the alliances so far.

I also watched Blockwars; I'm not entirely sure to what extent the reason why I enjoyed it less than MCC is because I was watching Tubbo and he and his team were not doing well and not having a great time. I did like the obstacles and the party games.
Fortunately, MCC is coming back next weekend! So many great teams, both from an entertainment as well as from a competitive perspective, this is going to be fun.

Over 650 open tabs!!? Holy fuck! I thought I was bad with like 30 tabs-- which make me feel incredibly messy and failing life in general, haha. (Not that I think YOU are a messy, disorganized person!) So, congratulation on reducing that. 🥳

I started watching Hermitcraft during Double Life (And only just finished watching all POVs in time for Limited Life to start...) and that one is also very good! (That's the soulmate AU world one.) I need to go back and watch the first two but not until after Limited Life is over I guess, for time reasons! (Double Life seems like it was in a lot of way a callback to S1 and Limited Life is looking like a callback to S2.)

Grian and/or Scar is definitely a good POV for Double Life, especially coming right out of Third Life! Also Pearl is very good. And maybe Tango? And also, Everybody Else U_U

I think I am going to have to end up watching just a couple POVs for Limited Life, though, if I'm also trying to keep up with Hermitcraft and also, like, do anything else, there is just not enough time in the week.
