MCC is back for season 3, finally. That was so much fun.

I watched Phil on the Orange Ocelots with Joel Smallishbeans, ryguyrocky, and ImpulseSV. That was a great team. Team Daddy, as Joel did not get tired to say xD Great chemistry even though half of them had never interacted before; eg Impulse was clearly thrilled to play with Phil. They had a good time and they did so well!, especially in the early games, they were in second place for the longest time. Such a shame about Joel's internet problems. Well, silver lining, at least Phil didn't have to feel bad facing Ranboo in dodgebolt ^^ They ended up in fourth place (one (!) coin behind third!), and Phil got eighth individual, his best placement since MCC 19. His RSR was very impressive, especially the second round, and he also did very well in Ace Race. His SoT made me facepalm several times, he apparently didn't understand that he wasn't sandkeeper, but fortunately it wasn't played last this time. The team did surprisingly not that well at Grid Runners and they also only got sixth at TGTTOSAWAF, SG might have given them a bigger chance to make it to DB but Phil was so happy to play Terra Swoop Force again he clearly didn't care, and as a team they were happy they did better than most fans predicted.

I was also very happy about how well the Blue Bats did: FireBreathMan, aimsey, ElainaExe and Shubble. The vast majority of predictions had them in tenth place and then they got sixth! Go them. I watched FBM's VOD afterwards and I'm half convinced that half the reason why they did so well was because of the extra motivation they had to spite the subreddit who overwhelmingly predicted them to come last. They did especially well in the second half. In some games FBM carried, like Sky Battle, but they did a great job as a team, especially in games like SoT (aimsey is one of the best sandkeepers) and Grid Runners and TGTTOSAWAF.
(This one was fun, but I don't think I'm going to watch many VODs of aimsey's teams, I find it stressful how quickly she talks. It was funny when they ran over to Ranboo's house to support him in DB.)

Cyan got first by over two thousand points! Jojo first individual (again), Ranboo fifth!, Ranboo made it to DB for the first time - and then they lost. Hbomb winning the first game of the new season on Aqua again… I would have been happy for Cyan but I was happy for Aqua too, especially Krtzy winning for the first time since MCC 1.

I'm thinking of maybe watching Cyan and Pink later, but I rarely if ever watch more than two POVs of one MCC so idk if I'll get around to it.

Today they also announced MCC Scuffed, which will take place on April 1st :D Fingers crossed that it will be an actual thing and that it will be ridiculous. I want teams we would never get in canon events and I want them to play Find the Button xD

I finally got a chance to sit and watch this (Phil's POV too) and it was so much fun! I loved how genuinely delighted Phil was just the whole time also his shirt almost made me cry and they came so close to dodgebolt! I feel like they very likely would have made it if Joel's internet had kept up, because he did real well in the rounds where he didn't glitch out.

Aimsey and Shubble were consistently toward the bottom of the bucket in MCC S1 but I feel like in what I've seen them in more recently they've both really dramatically improved in things like parkour, and they were both always really good at the teamwork aspects (unlike a lot of the S-Class player tbh.) And Firebreathman is one of the s-class ones who is actually really good at leading a team! So I'm not at all surprised they did better than predicted.

I was hoping they would used Scuffed as an opportunity to let people play with unbalanced teams - let the Hermits have a couple all-Hermits teams like they've been wanting even if none of them are top-rank on anything but building and redstone, give Ranboo the easy win he deserves, let some of the S-class players who never get to play together have one - but it looks like they still mostly tried for balance. There is an all-Empires team though which will probably be super fun!
