Eurovision 2023

schneefinkIt was Eurovision week! Always so much fun. LB joined DD and me for the semifinals via Discord, sadly he couldn't make it for the final, but fingers crossed he'll be here in person next year.
Sweden won, which I'm not that happy about because I thought the song was very generic, but since halfway through the jury voting my feelings were basically "anyone except Israel" so there was at least that relief. I would have preferred Finland (even though I didn't quite get the hype.)
I was very positively surprised by Austria's entry this year, Who the hell is Edgar?, it was fun. Sadly they got a lot fewer points than I would have expected, I suspect the fact that they started the show played a role in that.
Other than that: I thought Germany deserved so much better than last place. I also liked Norway a lot, and Australia was fun as well. My favorite song this year however was this unofficial one from New Zealand. Pangea!
