Snowflake challenge #3

Time for
snowflake_challenge again.
Challenge #3:
Create a wish list of fandom things (podfic, graphics, playlists, canon recs translations, research help, vids, sky's the limit!) that you'd like to receive.
I think in every other year I might have wished for fanfic comments, but actually recently I have felt very lucky with the amount of fanfic comments I got. So while I would of course always love some more, I thought of something else I would especially love: feedback on rec posts.
I made regular rec posts last year, mostly fanfic but also some art and vids, and for those and future recs I would love to know if they made people interested in checking the fanworks out and if they enjoyed them if they did. I know that many of them are probably for fandoms most of you are unfamiliar with, but I try to note whenever I think a fanwork can be enjoyed without knowing canon (and if that turns out to be incorrect for you that would be useful to know as well.) And if there is something you would be interested in seeing recs for that you think I might be familiar with, please let me know as well!
β¦speaking of fandoms most of you are unfamiliar with. Please let me know if you would be willing to check out some Minecraft roleplay videos if I wrote an intro/primer (and if yes, maybe what kind of tropes/characters/stories you are currently most interested in) because I would happily write intros/primers for my current shiny things for any audience greater than zero.
And, as a bonus, some Hermitcraft/Life series icons, especially for Scar/Cleo/Etho, would be very nice.

Date: 2024-01-06 04:52 pm (UTC)In hindsight I really should have crossposted my recs to comms, for some reason I didn't think about that at all. Something for the new year.

Date: 2024-01-06 10:19 pm (UTC)On further thought, my fics can be found on AO3 by people who are interested in the respective fandoms, but crossposting my recs to other places to make them easier to find somehow didn't cross my mind. This year, hopefully.

Date: 2024-01-06 11:29 pm (UTC)I don't always bookmark or read fic for fandoms I don't know (like Mincraft), but I like seeing recs in general, even if I'm not familiar. And yes, it is useful to know if fic is approachable canon-blind, because if it's a trope or premise that is intriguing enough to me, I might give it a try. :)

Date: 2024-01-09 08:17 pm (UTC)The difficult thing about adding "is this approachable canon-blind y/n" is that I read many fics canon-blind, more than many people, so I'm always unsure how to judge. But it's an indication, at least.

Date: 2024-01-07 09:34 pm (UTC)And I'd love to get some intro posts about Minecraft roleplay videos! I'm not 100% I'll get into the full Minecraft fandom, but my sister is very invested in it, so I'd love to understand the Minecraft RPG scene better π
