New room problems and old stream notes

Thanks to my mom, who volunteered to come help me on Saturday, my new study room is already looking quite nice! Unfortunately the wifi in this room is much much worse - DD has said it wasn't great but I didn't realize how bad, it keeps cutting off. I got so frustrated that on Monday evening I decided to move the modem from one room to the other since it looks like there is also a suitable thingy near the electrical outlet, but it didn't work and then the wifi promptly also stopped working in the first room when I moved it back. ...my nerves did not like that, wow, I had not realized I was so close to freaking out.
Yesterday I came home late so I couldn't look at it, but today I tried turning it off and on again and it works again! What a relief. Now before I move it to the study room (which definitely needs to happen before my online exam next month) I'll do some more research.
I'm also procrastinating on studying by tidying (among other things), which, could be worse but still. Have I mentioned I have an exam in a month.


I'm enjoying cleaning out my post drafts though. Feels good. This time, some notes I made about Dream SMP videos/vods/streams I watched and didn't post for whatever reason, back in 2022-2023. Solely for my own recollection.

Only to then tell Karl that he's not scared of Techno any longer but he wants Techno to underestimate him so Techno won't target him and doesn't see him coming. But Techno is still in VC xDD
Quackity asks Wilbur out for pizza instead because he has an incredible jaw line and Wilbur agrees, but Wilbur is mad because he just wants to be a robot and Quackity ruined the bit.
Wilbur says he has a spreadsheet of every time he's been rejected xD Techno: "He really potato war'd his entire relationships."
Wilbur says he was rejected 27 times, Quackity: that's 27 people with no taste, Wilbur: Quackity I want to have sex with you.
Why is Wilbur on the SMP? To get sand, for TNT to blow up Manberg. JSchlatt: "Wait, you're blowing up Manberg? Oh, okay." ^^

Blueberry TV: The Exile Verdict | Dream SMP Season 2 Ep 31

Tommy found out that the public voted to exile him, gave another speech about how he thinks they should stand up to Dream, and makes a suggestion: they should get The Blade. And Technoblade logs on the second after he says that ^^
Tommy arguing that if Dream can control all governments, clearly he's the overhead government on the server
Also Tommy outright saying they're not teaming up with Technoblade, they're using him. And that Dream having the power to control every government that's Techno's worst nightmare: "all he doesn't want is a huge government, he can stand with a little one. […] It's not about agreeing with Techno, it's about disagreeing with Dream." And Tommy agreeing to go talk with Techno because he was closest to him, "we did Pogtopia together."
Oh wow here Dream says Tubbo is a great leader…
Feeling sorry for Tubbo here. Not wanting to start another war is reasonable! And he does have authority! But just making the decision without clearing it with the others, no wonder the others are mad, that's not very democratic. I agree with him that the discs aren't as important as L'Manberg, but otoh not letting Dream jerk them around does.

Phil stream from May 5 2021
More than four hours of Phil just hanging out chatting and building his massive underground training arena, and then Tommy and a revived Wilbur show up! Phil very clearly just… doesn't really know how to deal? Suddenly his son is alive again, and he says he forgives Phil for killing him and that Phil killing him was the best outcome, and that after thirteen years in limbo he's a lot better now. Meanwhile Tommy is clearly also struggling with this new Wilbur who also claims that Dream is his hero. Phil asked Wilbur why he lied in his letters and Wilbur compares it to not wanting one's parents to worry about a bad summercamp experience. Wilbur also asks for a place to stay and Phil immediately offers one. Phil so clearly really wants his son to be better, of course he does, so he believes Wilbur when he says he is.
Phil and Ranboo have a conversation right afterwards where Phil tells Ranboo that Wilbur forgave him and Ranboo says that Wilbur did ask him to, but Phil still thinks it wasn't a good thing to do. And then they joke about Dream maybe also needing some time in limbo to get his head sorted out.

Aww, Phil saying he's not very good at RP and hoping it was okay. Later someone asks if due to Wilbur's letters not mentioning the bad stuff Phil didn't know Wilbur was on his last canon life and if, when Phil killed Wilbur, he expected Wilbur to come back – a theory I personally find very plausible, but Phil said he preferred not to comment.

Favorite moments: Tommy calling himself the biggest stoner on the server, Wilbur wanting to join Las Nevadas and Quackity saying he doesn't want to risk it, Tommy being so delighted by the city, Wilbur and Quackity basically fighting over Tommy and accusing each other of using him, Tommy wondering if the two of them are flirting (and Wilbur basically saying not yet), Wilbur saying the only three people that are currently nice to him and that he cares about are Tommy, Phil, and Jack Manifold and Tommy is his best friend (and Tommy being so surprised that someone says they care about Jack Manifold), Quackity telling Tommy about the Butcher Army and Tommy first starting to say that trying to kill Techno was stupid and then realizing that this was during his exile and asking why Quackity and the others put so much effort into trying to kill Techno and not into helping him, Tommy admitting to Wilbur that he betrayed Technoblade and didn't treat Tubbo well, Tommy saying that Dream didn't bring Wilbur back he killed Ghostbur, Wilbur saying that Dream is his hero because he saved him and Tommy looking so unhappy about it and telling him he's so wrong and he doesn't want to talk about the prison but then saying Dream killed him make a point, Quackity saying Dream likes his company in prison, Wilbur saying he's trying not to be a shit person to Tommy and saying it's easy but right after that telling Tommy to trust him when he says he wants to go to prison to thank Dream, "What could go wrong in a prison" fucking seriously, Tommy not wanting to use the axe because it's filled with guilt

Oooh :D Attempt four hundred and something to allow Kristin the Lady Death to visit this world, this time it worked. I like to imagine that she and Phil talk frequently :)
She's had a rough couple of thousand years :(
She called Wilbur "Phil's son," strongly implying he's not hers, interesting.
Aww, "their casa es mi casa," not only Phil's but Techno's too, and calling it "Phil and Techno AirBnB."
Phil filled his inventory with totems of undying and the first thing she does is make weakness potions so she can get drunk.
Phil writing on the screen to talk to chat and the crows then relaying (some of it) to Kristin is hilarious. Phil threatening to bap them on the head in capslock if they try to make her go into the casino, and then gifting ten subs from her account to tell her the casino is off limits xDD
Kristin finds Las Nevadas, finds the pool next to the hotel and puts her towel down and has another cocktail (Phil notes: easiest stream ever holy shit), then asks RL!Phil to get her a cocktail and he does, aww
Kristin going up the needle, making sure to point out she's never landed a water bucket MLG before, and jumping off the tower to try and hit the fountain that is clearly too far away xD Fortunately she managed to use the water bucket just enough not to die.

Afaik this is the only time until the Syndicate finale that we see her visiting the server, I wonder (in-universe) if either it happened more often and we just didn't see, or if there were other reasons why it didn't happen again. Maybe the ritual needed very specific ingredients? Or maybe it took more out of Phil and/or Kristin than originally anticipated? Hm.

George blowing up the Dream SMP

That was very fun. I knew from the beginning that it's all a dream but I bet that was even more exciting to watch live (though it should have been obvious soon pretty soon.) George and Dream's first conversation in front of the prison, with Dream telling George how he never even thought to ask about visiting him in prison and then asking if he's with him or against him and then killing him, was great. And the George vs Dream and Techno 1v2! Techno is not that great at throwing a fight while pretending not to ^^ In full netherite it's not easy tbf, I assume he and Dream just didn’t eat the entire time. (Loved George calling him "your Technoblade" to Dream and Dream being so concerned for Techno – methinks George might be secretly jealous of Dream's new friend, heh.)
Other favorite detail: Shroud not even attacking George at first, and Callahan's inventory just being full of turtle shell helmets.
George constantly saying things like "it sure would be convenient if it would rain right now – wow, what a coincidence!" was very funny.

Phil stream from August 4 2022

Phil finally revealed what Techno's last build was meant for: a whole undercover Syndicate storyline in which cc!Techno would play a new character Cyberknife who "really loved government." That would have been great.

The shield referencing the Antarctic Empire, when Phil and Techno became more of a "unit of chaos" ^^ (so that is vague backstory canon in the DSMP, interesting. Just like MCM.)
Aww, he kept the friendship emerald. But the will is in the museum now – well, at least he gave it to Eret, idk if it will be put in the museum or not.


Tales From the SMP | The Masquerade
Karl did some ~standalone episodes about his time travels and this one had Techno and was a lot of fun.
Karl highlights:
Sir Billiam the Third! Techno is the funniest guy. Love the accent too.
Ranboo didn't realize he was muted for the first half hour xDD I also heard that he was only cast about an hour before they went live? And that Dream was supposed to be in it but had to cancel because he was sick – I wonder if Dream was supposed to play the butler who ran away, Hubert, I would have loved to see that. I bet it would have been a very different kind of butler. To this one, a poor person and a commoner who barely gets to eat. And the first thing he asks about when given permission to speak more freely is what a union is xD
Most of the mansion looked good but nothing special, but I really loved the piano.

I'm glad you have the room set up, yay, but the spotty WiFi sounds SO frustrating. My mom had success with using a WiFi range extender thing when she had a similar problem -- but it seems extra annoying to have to do that within an apartment, which is already a reasonably small space!
