schneefinkAnother good episode! At this point I'm just waiting for them to fuck it all up, so every episode that's good and not too stupid is a pleasant surprise. So far 3B might be my favorite season since the first.
The cast has really grown! I think everyone appeared in this one, if only for a few minutes. Even Deaton :)
Chris and Derek working together, yay! A cautious truce, but still.
Kira is badass <3 I'm not usually a fan of the "person receives magical ability, instantly knows how to fight" trope - Scott at least had mostly instincts at first and had time to train in the meantime - but it works because we know kitsunes can possess people, so the kitsune giving her fighting powers makes more sense.
Kira's mom not telling her anything - argh, I hate that. See where that leads? Your daughter fighting the Oni! You know that she's started to discover her powers, why in the world did you think not explaining things to her was a good idea? Especially with dangerous creatures like the nogitsune running around!
Other than that one serious flaw, Kira's parents are cute together.
Allison as Lydia's fierce protector - YES! I love it. I'm not convinced of Lydia's reasons to go to Peter - couldn't she have gone to Deaton? - I think she still feels weirdly connected to him because of that whole, uh, resurrection thing, in a subconscious even though not positive way. At least Lydia is trying to figure out her powers!
Peter is as creepy as ever. (Flirting with another parent, haha.) I'm not quite sure what to think of the daughter storyline, I'm not quite sure how it fits. If it's Malia, he must have been really young - which might explain why Talia took the baby and his memory away, but still. (Though why is she a coyote?)
So we have another mysterious member of the Hale family, which looks more and more dysfunctional, btw. I'm still ignoring Visionary. And I'm pretending that Cora in 3A was actually Erica, because Cora makes no sense whatsoever. Erica is still alive and in South America.
It's weird that Isaac's not healing. But then he's always been the whipping boy. Coach being worried about Isaac was nice. Btw their "someone will die" warnings are really starting to piss me off. I don't want to guess, it's just distracting, and I'd rather not know.
What was the purpose of that Danny/Ethan scene? Just to point out that nobody has warned Danny about the twins yet? Seriously -.-
Speaking of, everyone seems to have more or less passively accepted the twins as just being around, but I hope they'll address their status again and either kill them (yay!), let them leave (fine), or give them a real redemption arc. But that would take time away from characters I actually like, so let's just kill them.
I really enjoyed Scott going Alpha on the twins.
Nogitsune!Stiles is still scary. Great acting, again. It's great that unlike with all the crazy stuff the Alphas did, all of his actions that seem irrational or crazy (why the emitter in Derek's loft? Why the clue in the box in the bus - and btw who delivered it, does the nogitsune have minions now or did he bribe someone?) can be more or less explained by Stiles and the nogitsune fighting for control, or by the nogitsune's chaos-loving nature. The nogitsune must be pretty sadistic - the arrow on the trail, why? But that might be fun for it. He also goaded Scott into taking the deputy's pain. Strife, chaos, and pain.
Who is it pissed at? We saw that the Oni killed a nogitsune, so maybe the Oni? But in the confrontation in the hospital it didn't look like it was after Mrs. Yukimura. It could still be her, of course. Or, idk, Deaton, but unlikely. Peter would be a nice surprise.
Another great Scott&Stiles scene. I want so many vids after this season.
So far the plot could almost make sense! I'm worried. But then the trailer for next episode shows Stiles in the mental institution, which, what, so it could go off the rails fast.
In completely different news, I have to pass the pre-test for the driver's license tomorrow if I don't want to have to repeat classes (no thank you), I still have some studying to do and because I didn't buy the CD I'll have to do it at the driving school. I had it all planned and everything, and I'm mostly optimistic. (Currently my average score is about 77% and I need over 80% to pass.) And then I found out that it means I'll miss the Finland-Russia hockey quarter final. Damn it. I was really looking forward to seeing Maatta vs. Malkin. Oh well, hopefully I'll manage to watch the semifinals.

Für mich müssten sowohl Peter als auch die Twins permanent draufgehen, um auch nur ansatzweise eine Versöhnung mit der Serie an Angriff zu nehmen. Leider ist aber auch der Großteil des Restes so ein hanebüchener Fleckerteppich, dass da eigentlich keine Chancen mehr bestehen. Ist ganz klar auch nicht Ziel der Schreiberlinge.
Sobald Derek etwas längere Szenen hat, erinnere ich mich, weshalb das keine gute Idee ist. Hoechlin mag ästhetisch ansprechend sein, but acting he really can't...
Ansonsten: bitte mehr Scott, mehr Scott & Stiles, mehr Kommunikation zwischen den Parteien (Kiras Mutter hätte sich die zwei Schanzvernichtungen sparen können, wären sie und Deaton über die Kids in Kontakt).

Date: 2014-02-20 09:48 pm (UTC)Ja, so sehr ich bessere Storylines für Derek gern hätte, der beste Schauspieler ist Hoechlin nicht gerade. Scott&Stiles sind eindeutig das Beste, und Scott&Melissa, Allison, Lydia... Kill the twins. Meinetwegen sollen sie sich für wen anderen opfern und alle sollen so tun, als ob das ihre vorherigen Taten ausgleicht.
