Black sails end of s2
May. 25th, 2018 05:21 pmMy tendonitis is acting up again, as it has every few months for many years now. A few weeks ago I finally went to an orthopedic specialist, who told me to do some exercises and then come back. I did the exercises and my left hand feels a lot better, but my right one not at all. So maybe I should type a little less, but, uh. I'm careful with everything else?
But I do only have a few minutes before I need to leave for tonight's D&D session, so a very short reaction only to the Black Sails season 2 finale.
MIRANDA WAS KILLED. Did not see that coming. Just when she and Flint were finally growing closer again. And just when it looked like Flint's plan could actually succeed, Miranda discovered Lord Ashe's betrayal and of course she was furious. At least her last wish came true.
Abigail standing up to her father was wonderful, I hope she survived.
Flint and Vane working together to destroy Charlestown :) I also really liked Vane and Billy's conversations. And Flint's talk with Silver near the end. Silver in general, first his talk with Billy and then refusing under torture to get most of Flint's crew killed (he probably knew about the keys but still) and losing his leg, ouch. The men love him now. He was tortured for them, he's quartermaster, and he's the one who "found out" about the gold still being there – he has probably as much power as Flint on the ship, if not more. He doesn't want to become captain, but still, dangerous. He told Flint about the Urca gold because he figured it would come out, and I think Flint knew he was lying (much more likely Silver came up with the scheme than the other two crewmen) but also knew that with Silver's new popularity he couldn't do anything about it, that's why he was so furious.
They got the gold already! Wow. (And both Guthries, the trade experts, are gone… Trade is going to become a lot harder.)
That was exciting, and I can barely wait for the next season.
