Genderswap + bodyswap + amnesia, that would be fun

To distract myself and cheer myself up ($%#§& cramps) here's a fannish tropes meme I saw in several places:

Pick one, give me a fandom that you know I know and a character(s)/pairing, and I'll tell you which story I would write for it!

Just looking at the list already gave me some ideas, and because it's unlikely someone will ask for those specifically have some snippets:


SGA, Ronon, telepathy: Sateda has telepaths, which is a secret their trading partners pretend not to know, and Ronon is one of them. It doesn't work with the Wraith: sometimes he's grateful for that because he doesn't want to know what their thoughts feel like, but after seven years he's so starved for that connection that he sometimes wishes he could.
When he meets the Atlanteans he immediately automatically reaches out for them telepathically (people never notice), but it's been so long, it's so overwhelming, that it's difficult to read them clearly. And then he comes to Atlantis, where there are even more people. He feels dizzy for hours, Carson thinks it's from the surgery.
It's so automatic for Ronon not to tell people that he doesn't even think of it. It's more difficult to read people not from Sateda because the gate translators don't work well telepathically, he mostly gets impressions and sometimes vague images because he's out of practice, and practicing on them makes him feel guilty.
What he doesn't know is that he projects in his sleep. He hasn't done it since he was a kid, and on Sateda most people knew rudimentary shielding. But he can't stop his nightmares, and he doesn't notice that it's affecting other people too until one overnight off-world mission a few months later. Then he feels guilty and starts meditating and shielding training again.
Teyla suspects something because she noticed the dream didn't feel like her own. Ronon knows that in case they lose their radios his ability could be crucial, so he tells his team and asks them not to tell anyone else. None of them are happy he didn't tell them for so long, but they adapt.



SGA, Ronon and Teyla, High School/College: This could go two ways, either an AU where there are schools in Pegasus where Ronon and Teyla both meet as teenagers, or a mission where Ronon and Teyla for some reason have to go undercover in an Earth college. I like the first one better.
So there's this education/cultural exchange program one world set up. Many were initially skeptical because they said the people invited were too different to learn much from each other, but they quickly realized that it was very beneficial (for spying purposes if nothing else, that's why the Genii sent Sora.)
Ronon is sent from Sateda as a history student because someone in his family has connections. His own plan is to learn about other worlds' poetry and art. Teyla is sent for "general knowledge", diplomacy and cultural exchange. The idea is that students also learn a lot from each other, so it's leadership as well.
Ronon and Teyla become friends, but not immediately, and I don't know yet exactly how. Teyla and Sora become best friends because they already knew each other, and it might even have a bit of Teyla/Sora in it, that would be lovely.



Leverage, Sophie and Nate, Truth or Dare: It starts almost accidentally, with the whole crew and very silly (Hardison dares Eliot to watch an entire season of Doctor Who with him, Parker tells everyone about that time she barely escaped Nate with her prize and Nate never knew, Eliot dares Sophie to do more self-defense training and Nate to only drink soda for a month), but then Sophie and Nate look at each other just so and the game is on. (The others wisely leave soon.) No cheating, e.g. asking for Sophie's real name, but Sophie dares Nate to call Maggie and Nate dares her to not be anyone outside of cons for a week. As Eliot explains to Parker, it's one of their fucked up ways of showing they care and deepening their relationship. Parker thinks it's needlessly complicated, but judging from the way they inch closer to each other and stare deeply into each other's eyes it seems to work, so whatever.



A:tla/Legend of Korra, Toph and Lin, accidental baby acquisition: How Toph got Lin. She didn't plan to get pregnant! She'd just figured out that she liked sex and could get it if she wanted, but she didn't notice a torn condom. When she realized that she was pregnant she rolled with it. She found the guy and told him, and when he was embarrassed and asked if he should offer to marry her she just laughed. She can deal with this herself, thanks, and she has no intention of marrying him. But he can see his kid if he wants. (He does.) She tells her friends when they're in town, all of them are surprised and ask vaguely insulting questions if she can deal with it. But Toph is an adult now, she knows how to ask for help if she needs it and it's not very often. Katara and Aang still insist on staying in Ba Sing Se for a while, which she pretends to be annoyed about but secretly admits is kind of sweet, and Sokka and Suki come to visit too. Zuko sends an awkward letter, which Toph finds hilarious.
Toph would never admit it, but babies are extremely tiring, and she's extremely glad her friends are here so she can get some sleep. She takes their word on how adorable Lin looks, but she already knows her daughter is amazing.



The Sarah Jane Adventures, Clyde, Rani, and Luke, drunk!fic: This takes place a few years in the future. Sarah Jane is dead, the kids are out of school and in university, and most of the year 13 Bannerman Road is deserted. They're still good friends, they call and text regularly with each other and Mr. Smith, but it's not the same. Luke is currently studying five things at once, Rani is doing whatever the British road to becoming a journalist is, and Clyde does the same for artists and is already working on his own comics on the side, both submitted to magazines (idk how that works) and webcomics. (Torchwood is a big fan, and in a few years Captain Jack Harkness will misuses Torchwood resources to visit Clyde, flirt with him, and get his autograph. Maria will tell Clyde that Kate Stewart likes his webcomic and he'll send her an autographed copy.)
On New Year's Eve they meet on the attic of 13 Bannerman Road, with K-9 and Mr. Smith. Maria couldn't make it this year, she's studying in the US (not sure what, maybe also journalism, or computer science, or medicine.) The latest Christmas invasion was bad: Luke was involved, but he doesn't want to say what happened. Clyde and Rani don't press, but they don't need to, and over the years they've become freakishly good at non-verbal communication. Clyde made a cake, just because, and Rani brought drinks, and they sit on the stairs opposite of Mr. Smith, K-9 next to them, and talk about Sarah Jane and everything and nothing, laugh, cry a bit, and are so damn glad to be here with each other.
They all go silent at midnight. Mr. Smith chooses a different bell each year, and this year it's a small church on the continent somewhere that has a bell made out of a specific alien alloy and sounds beautiful. The kids hug, laugh and cry a bit more, and toast Sarah Jane and all of their friends and the universe.
Half an hour later, when the cake is gone and the alcohol almost, Luke tells his friends what happened on Christmas Eve and they hold him and things get better.

That one's difficult because I've already read a few fics like this and I'd want to do something different. So to start with I would probably kill Nate and Eliot. Nothing personal, but they'd be the best at dealing with the situation and the most likely to die in most apocalyptic scenarios. How about the Wraith? Or similar aliens, or whatever. Hardison, Sophie, and Parker are somewhere where going out is very dangerous. Hardison tries to repair his computers to make contact with anyone, Parker goes out to get them food way more often than she should because it's dangerous and she's wounded, but she'd go crazy otherwise. Sophie doesn't know what to do, so she tries to look after Hardison and Parker even though both of them don't need and don't particularly want it. All three of them are terribly at grieving. It would be a small fic, only background plot, that's mainly about dealing with their grief alone and together while facing the uncertain future.
