I love playing D&D.

After our unexpected fight and victory against our enemy's head spy, we were looking for the gem with the soul of my undead minion.

The next sessions were so much fun that I wrote fic about it :D
Surviving Caterpillars
Featuring, among other things, my undead cat familiar fighting a dragon. I don't know how much sense it'll make for anyone not familiar with our campaign, but I enjoyed writing it a lot.

After that came the attack on the city occupied by enemy forces. Before the attack we completed a ritual to destroy Pelor's "tear", a magical artifact with a direct connection to his power. Now his clerics' connection to Pelor's divine magic is damaged, and while they can still cast, the choice of spells is randomized. We were hoping this would give us a big enough advantage to succeed.

And it did! Almost against expectations we did win the battle, and more. We damaged the Chariot significantly by blowing up its weapons, blowing a hole into its hull and then pouring a lot of acid into it. The evil saint's second apprentice showed up, a very annoying illusionist, but my character managed to Disintegrate her (while falling from the Chariot to the ground and catching herself literally in the last round.)
(Btw, I'm not using names here because I don't want to risk it that one of the other players could google them and find this…)

Our cleric/crusader challenged the opposing general to a duel, which he accepted. He tried to cast spells, but not only could he not cast the ones he wanted, our DM's randomizer arrived at spells that did pretty much the opposite and made it look like his god vehemently disapproved of what he was doing. Parts of his troops were already fleeing when our cleric, in a stroke of genius, used Guidance of the Avatar on a diplomacy check and got him to surrender. (We joked a lot about love across the battlefield.)

Meanwhile the Chariot threatened to fall apart, which would have destroyed the entire city, so we went inside and to the control room to hopefully fly it away. In the control room we were confronted by the surviving evil saint of Pelor, the swarm of mind-controlling spellcasting caterpillars. Fun! Fortunately he too had very bad luck with the divine magic randomizer, and then my character knocked him out with one shot. I almost couldn't believe it. But he failed the reflex save because the druid had managed to poison him, he took double damage from an Empowered area effect spell… Not dead, just dispersed, but another party member also managed to dispel the contingency healing spell, the caterpillars were being attacked by the druid's summoned centipede swarms, and a few minutes afterwards the whole Chariot blew up (sufficiently far away from the city.) He could well reform, he probably has caterpillars stashed away that can eventually breed enough to establish a mind again, but we should at least be rid of him for a while. One fucking shot! After my character and I were so scared of him. Wow. Not what any of us expected.

One player who hasn't shown up in months decided that when/if he rejoins he doesn't want to play his old character anymore, who by now is several levels below the rest of the party (we mostly treated the character as an NPC.) That posed the problem of what to do with his old character. He wanted a heroic sacrifice, so his character stayed behind in the Chariot to make sure it blew up while the others got out. A suitably heroic ending. Downside, my character just lost one of her very few friends, which sucks. At least she saved a city.
