I was adjacent to SGA but never heard of it until now. Did it have something to do with Rodney's allergy?

I'll talk more about it tomorrow, but basically it was fics set past the episode "Trinity" in which Rodney is shunned for having made a mistake, which often involved lemon chicken being served in the mess, and later everyone realizes how wrong they were and they apologize. Fanlore article

If you're talking about h/c involving Rodney's allergy, I remember seeing it just as often tagged "lemon fic" which was. Extremely misleading.

Lemon chicken fic is only tangentially related to the allergy insofar as food Rodney is allergic to is used to signal how much everyone currently hates him, and later it became a name for a kind of fics of which most never mention lemon chicken once I'm pretty sure.

I wasn't sure if I was thinking of the right thing because I most often remember hearing it called post-Trinity fic in the circles I was in - even if it was just the general concept (Shunned By Your Terrible Friends) and not actually dealing with Trinity at all. But I did guess correctly, lol. A lot of fandoms have this, but IIRC SGA might be the only one that built a sort of culture around it. (Well, okay, in MCU the Team Steve/Team Tony thing kinda has that air about it too.)

SGA fandom is the only one that organised a list and gave it a humorous name, but the VIBE was there in The Sentinel fandom, especially post finale fic, as well. (I used to describe why TS fandom was Like That by saying, "Imagine if Trinity was the series finale.")

Back in the day someone did a *hilarious* Lemon Chicken Fic recs post, with fics rated by how lemon-chicken-y they were. I remember laughing outrageously, but I can't remember who did the list.

Not familiar with the term but seeing it described I think I read a few. I read SGA fic (on ff.net) but wasn't really active in other areas of fandom, and I had a distinct preference for physical whump :)
